A JOURNEY INTO THE HEART OF ROCK´N´ROLL
2006 - 2012

Luckily I could sign up for this bombing. Me I purified the Holy and damn rock´n´roll, aware, many years ago, that was their destiny that definitely before succumbing to his power and evil magic. Enjoy and photograph the scene of rockabilly, here in Spain, in this first decade of the 21st century, as well as a luxury, is being quite a challenge and an experience very intense, absorbing and committed. Another way to lose me while continued looking for me with the camera hanging around my neck. The rock´n´roll is pure life, as someone once said...

ROCKERS, HEPCATS & TEDDY BOYS
2006 - 2012

The experience of knowing and sharing friendship with personalities from the rockin' scene has leaded me to recover the practice of studio portrait. The square format stimulates again my sense of vision and accelerates my heart beats per minute: the faces and shapes, the gestures, the look, the complex postures, the natural lightning and the artificial one too. Living again the magic ritual of doing photography in the classic way as I learned, and in color, as I had never done before, chasing film influences in which the color defines the aesthetics of the image. Rockers, pin up girls, tattooists, burlesque dancers, musicians, bikers, DJ's, hotrodders... passionate lovers of both, original rock'n'roll and the 50's culture.

RUNNIN´ NEW YORK
2007

Five days in New York to inject a new vital experience to me. The hyperactivity of the geometric city put me under a rate without rest, while I would eat noddles and sleep with the sound track of the 7th Avenue: works, fan coolers and permanent traffic. I walked with an established itinerary but with the strange sensation of not going anywhere. This is a story of silences and friendships, a series of images about a strange journey against the clock, non-stop watching...

THE LAST TRAVEL TO CUBA
2006

Angel Moliní, a friend and partner from my teenage days, to whom I must be grateful for having influenced me in my earliest days of learning photography, is the main character in this cuban adventure. We met together along his friends and therapists at La Habana, and after a couple of days we started an amazing journey to Viñales. Beers, congrí and more beers... This report is a tribute in his memory. Rest in peace, mate.

A WALK IN MARRAKECH
2006

However, is at dusk, with the sun starting to fall, when the square gets its entire personality and the whole city starts its frenetic activity, invaded by acrobats, gibraltar monkeys, dancers, Rif musicians, water carriers, spicer men, charm sellers, trinket sellers, dentures and teeth sellers: highlanders of the Atlas, people of the south, donkeys carriages, twisting mobylettes, cabs, screams, smoke clouds from the food stands, chillin' snails and smilin' japaneses. ¡Holy chaos!.

IN TOKIO WITH LA EXCEPCIÓN
2005

The spanish hip hop trio La Excepción was traveling to Japan to make a gig at Expo Universal Aichi, in Nagoya. Ten days before, we had a "bolo" at the Sala Duo in Tokyo, property of Jamiroquai. Joe Alonso and I were The Eyestorm S.L. by those days, and we joined the band to make visuals for the gigs of the Pan Bendito's trio. Furthermore, Joe added the making of a documentary film to our routine. Photography, interviews, records... spaces, fragrances, images... long walks, sashimi and some crabs in the world's biggest lounge!

INTO THE LABERYNTH: THE LOST SIGHTS
1997 - 2003

In front of photographs of Alay, the spectator evokes the expressionistic frame of David Lynch, its eroticism, its mystery, that lejania and proximity at the same time, a visual hypnosis behind the vital maze. It seems that Antonio Alay because the same psychogenic fugue which Lynch was in lost highway but which, instead of using a Panavision uses a Hasselblad. ( Olvido Andujar, Madrid 2004 )

PORTRAITS 5x7" & 6x7cms.
1994 - 1996

Photographing a face is like photographing an idea. In the studio, the concept of image is quite simple: through the expression, the shapes and gestures, the lights and colors, the wine that you drink and the music you listen... that creates an atmosphere that transmits the appropriate calm and tension to experience the snatch wanted vision, or at least this is the purpose. By then, I believed to overcome some of my fears photographing them... Nothing better than a photo exorcism to get rid of what, on the other hand, was giving me life...

EXPREFORMS
1991 - 1995

The man decided to turn into Cyclops. Merge his eyes in a photographic lens allowing him to create his own visual proposal. Seduced by the moments pregnantes of Bill Brandt, undertook the journey to the world of shadows. An itinerary in search of an acknowledgement of his manipulative self-belief of the object. Moving away from the plausible realist, found in expressionist images valid game of contrasts for the elemental distortion. Nothing is further from the photographic automatism that careful composition, the study of the position of the subject and treatment of its forms, and the perfect Cadence of the violadora light of obscurities. The control of the images and their contents is its potential form of power, the language of a creator become voyeur... ( Fina Fabra, Valencia 1996 )
